Empowering Fishing Communities Through Unity

Homabay County Beach Management Unit Network was established in 2011 with a bold vision: to unit and transform the fragmented fishing communities of Homabay County into a unified, powerful force for sustainable exploitation of fisheries resources for development and economic prosperity.

What started as a mere welfare organization has grown into a thriving investment platform through visionary cordination of 145 BMUs, representing over 101,620 active fishefolk and their families. Our organization serves as a bridge between local fishing communities and the world, ensuring fair trade practices, environmental conservation and socio-economic growth.

Building a Stronger Future for Fishing Communities

Welcome to the Homabay County Beach Management Unit Network. Our journey began with a simple but powerful dream to unite and empower fishing communities across Homabay County through collaboration, sustainable resource management, and economic growth.

Since our establishment, we have worked tirelessly to strengthen the voice of Beach Management Units, improve livelihoods, and create opportunities for thousands of fisherfolk and their families. Today, our network proudly connects 145 BMUs and supports over 101,620 active fisherfolk in building a better future.

We believe that sustainable fisheries, environmental conservation, youth empowerment, and fair trade practices are key pillars for the prosperity of our communities. Together, we continue to transform lives through unity, innovation, and shared responsibility.
